Joe Salwen is a filmmaker from Atlanta, GA primarily focused on writing, directing, and producing. He is in his final year at Northwestern University, where he is studying Radio, Television + Film with a focus on Creative Writing for the Media.
In November 2014, he produced a music video for Kevin Abstract's "Hell/Heroina," which premiered on Complex. In August 2015, Joe wrote, directed, produced, and financed his narrative short film, Room and Board. The short will be released in early 2017.
At Northwestern, Joe recently produced the annual music video for Niteskool Productions, to be released in Fall. He is also the Script Development Chair of Studio 22 Productions, the on-campus film production company.
His favorite films include The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Beasts of the Southern Wild, and Young Frankenstein. He greatly admires the work of Woody Allen, Quentin Tarantino, and David Lynch.
Joe roots for the New York Giants, enjoys listening to Mark Knopfler, and prefers his Eggo Waffles toasted.
